New Speaker series in Second Life (pilot in November)

The first of a new 'speaker' series in Second Life ... designed specifically at a time convenient to us in S.E.Asia and these time zones ... and with relevant topics and guests for our interests here.

I hope you can join us .... if you have never been into S.L. then this might hopefully be an incentive to dip your virtual toe in the virtual water ... remember it is all free ... details on how to sign up and find the venue is at http://internationalschoolsisland.blogspot.com/2008/02/getting-to-i...

Judy .... sorry, didn't record the meetings .... wanted to keep it simple .... all three sessions went well and brilliant discussions/sharing .... although the turnout low (ish) ... so am not sure if the timing is right for a larger series aimed at a time to be convenient to Asia time .....

Only plans for 2009 (as an outcome) is to have a series of 3 sessions again ... with a focus on libraries, librarians, info fluency .... details/dates to be confirmed ... librarians made up the majority of those attending.

I'm optimistic that there will be a demand for a larger programme ... but just not yet.

.. and may I be the first to wish you "Merry Christmas"
;-)

Hope these went well Chris. Do you have a video or something to post to let us know how it all went? Thanks. Sorry I couldn't make them...end of the academic year for us, and soooo busy. Cheers, Judy

You need to look at something other than Second Life Stacy. Teen Grid is 13-18 - I suggest you look at Quest Atlantis for that age range, if you don't have resources/program to teach yet. Alternatively you might look at a game - as at that age the...
