Thanks for sharing this Judy, I hadn't seen DabbleBoard before and was keen to explore it!
After watching the movie that you posted by Rich White, I visited his Smithsonian space on ReactionGrid to test the board. By going to a DabbleBoard page in your browser, you can type, draw, import images and even snapshots of documents which are then transferred to your board in-world. In this case, it was a board in the Smithsonian space on ReactionGrid.
At the time of testing, my internet connection was running a little slowly, so I wasn't able to test the image feature. However, I was really impressed with the other features, including the way I could use my Tablet PC with DabbleBoard's Freehand tool.
The facility to create on one DabbleBoard which is then transferred to boards in multiple virtual spaces is a great feature too. We are exploring the idea of a private OpenSim grid and a public space on ReactionGrid. Therefore, we could create content on our DabbleBoard which would then be transferred to the boards in both worlds.
I can see some lovely uses for this tool: A noticeboard, brainstorming space, etc... Should all go to plan with our school project, it will be one tool I'll be keen to follow up!
