About Me:
I am a middle school mathematics instructor living in the big sky country. I am a lifelong learner and lover of emerging technologies. I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful sons. I think the applications found in environments like TSL, SL, Social Networks and read/write web tools has changed the way we need to teach our students.

Watching Jokay build...with MissieZ Moonites

Jokaydia III was a completely empty island when I first arrived and I was certain someone would have to fill it. Once again, I arrived in Second Life at the perfect time. Whenever, I go to Second Life, I always check Jokaydia. It is where I spend a large amount of my time because it is where I have met the most helpful people. My wife Joanie and our two boys went on a road trip this weekend, so I lucked out in the amount of time I could spend cavorting around with new friends in my new world.… Continue

So, I did what kids would do in a similar situation and I searched the site and I found a link to Judy O'Connell's page which contained a Lee Lefever, Blogs in Plain English video. Basically what the video said was that there was a small audience with great interest in whatever it was that I had to say. So I will try to describe what has happened to me over… Continue

Welcome Jeff!! Really looking forward to catching up some time in SL, as well as hearing more about what your thoughts and experiences with SL via our group here. By the way, any friend of Jo Kay is certainly a friend of mine :-)

Virtual Worlds in Primary Classrooms

Hi,I am a fairly new user of Second Life, and I love the endless possibilities that exist there. However, as a primary school teacher, I am wondering what options exist for children aged 7 -11 to engage in a virtual world similar to Second Life. There are so many amazing places to visit in Second Life that would be perfect for students studying certain themes etc, but of course, they are far too young to have accounts etc...What examples do people have of primary schools using virtual worlds -…See More
