You need to look at something other than Second Life Stacy. Teen Grid is 13-18 - I suggest you look at Quest Atlantis for that age range, if you don't have resources/program to teach yet. Alternatively you might look at a game - as at that age the...

I've added some images of the 'feel' I'm trying to achieve with Judy in a transmedia story we've decided to work on. Currently lost somewhere in Photoshop and Google Documents ... and liking the flexible lighting modes in Meerkat more and more ......

Wow, thanks for sharing. Firstly, Caledon is always an amazing place and I love the way GoAnimate made me want to go and check it out. Thanks so much for sharing both.

Transmedia Approach to learning

I've been looking at the idea of developing sequences of work using a transmedia strategy. The idea that there are a series of modules of work, each taking place in different media. Typically, this is a tried and tested method for advertising - the target people's attention in multiple places, leading to an outcome that is desired.

What do teachers need in their backpack?

What is in the EdTech backpack? Is it a mobile phone, laptop, 3G dongle or a bag of virtual dirty tricks, magical potions and comforters – part operations, part strategy, part performance art.

With hind-sight, I’d have created a persona online from the outset. I’d be Victor Gloucester. He’d feel confident to throw dynamite-ideas into rooms where people sit with arms folded staring into the vortex of techno-denial. He’d tell you “technology, when given to adults, presents a distinct chance that… Continue

Reaction Grid - First Meet

Thanks to Jo for putting on a first RG meet up. All seemed good until the avvie count hit 13 and then things fell over, but that I guess in the sim-spec, and certainly not a reason to pack up your prims.

Joe's been dragging in huge prim builds from Second Life and re-rezzing them in Reaction Grid with success, and it seems that Meerkat is doing a pretty good job of backing up full permission SL objects and textures. I'd like to say Second lnventory is doing the same for me, but - for some reaso… Continue

Dear Dean,

I cannot wait to see what you have done...I am so excited I can barely stand it. I do not even know if I am putting this in the right place, but I hope you read it.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Ah, yes, though CoLA might not be the place...
And, oh, this could mean teaching can be fun. Amazing. Who would have thought.
